A couple days ago I was given digits I just couldn’t ignore. This very special phone number belonged to the sexy Jazmine Cashmere (free nude gallery), one of the stars in the very hot Ransom. Not only was this Jazmine’s number, but she was ready and willing to talk with AEBN, which is holding the West Coast Production’s film Ransom for 30 days.
Over our conversation we were able to talk about everything from stalkers to non-porn related aspirations, the importance of fans and how much fun it was to film Ransom and about her future prospects in porn.
After getting the chance to sit down with Jazmine I quickly found her to be a very warm, smart, and creative young lady. Her ambitions extend beyond the next skin flick and reach into both mainstream movies and developing her skills as a writer.
Most importantly, speaking with Jazmine only reaffirmed the school of thought that porn stars are just like the rest of us. She has six tattoos, but isn’t into piercings. She watches Law and Order, the original being her favorite. When asked what her favorite movie is, she had a hard time deciding between Scarface and Love Jones.
When we talked about working in the industry, Jazmine said that the most unfortunate side affect she has found is that she is unable to enjoy porn as much as she used to because she “breaks it apart.” She said it’s hard to watch porn because she starts recognizing the set, has worked with the stars and knows them personally and has a working relationship with the company that made the porn. Despite her inability to enjoy porn as much as she used to, though, Jazmine is still a devoted fan of Jada Fire (free nude gallery) (xPeeps profile) and if anyone managed to talk Salma Hayek into doing porn, Jazmine would watch it in a heartbeat.
Jada Fire and Jazmine have worked together on several films, such as Nuttin Butt Azz, Black And White In Color, Jada Fire Is Squirt Woman 2, Pumps N’ Dumps, Let Off In Me 3, and Real Female Orgasms 6. Jazmine considers her a great friend.
One of the risks of filming porn is that you may end up having to do something on camera that you have never done in real life. I asked Jazmine if there ever was a case where on camera really was her first time. She conceded that there were a couple things she would never do in real life but does solely for her fans, namely orgies. But one thing she has done on camera and taken into her personal life is anal. “I had always wanted to but I never found a guy that really knew how to do that.”
But what about the flip side? Is there anything Jazmine would refuse to do on camera? First Jazmine is quick to note, “I never say never cause you never know what you may end up doing one day.” But for now her personal no-no list includes gangbangs, rape scenes and anything that has to do with bowel movements or spitting on each other. She says she’s just not into all that stuff.
Jazmine was no novice in the sex industry when she started filming. In her hometown of Chicago she started showing off her luscious body as soon as she was legally able to. At 18 she became a lingerie model and soon moved on to dancing at local nude clubs. From there she dabbled in escorting, something she’s still willing to do if you have the cash. Back in January 2004 she stumbled upon the website sexyjobs.com and roughly a week after applying she was whisked off to Vegas to work with AVN. Once she got her first gig there was no getting rid of our lovely Jazmine.
When asked her favorite position her answer is always sex, because that’s what Jazmine loves. She has no problem doing the freaky stuff, with the few exceptions she already listed.
As far as her studio and star connections, Jazmine has worked with plenty of the big ones, West Coast Production, Black Ice, Elegant, Wicked. She has filmed with nearly every man involved in the ethnic side of things (Lexington Steele, Mr. Marcus, Deep Threat, Justin Slayer, Jon Jon) and quite a few hot women, not excluding Sydnee Capri (free nude gallery), Jada Fire Marie Luv (free nude gallery) and Mika Tan (free nude gallery). We had to stop the list at that or else Jazmine would get too horny to continue the interview. When asked who her favorite was, only one name came to mind, Wesley Pipes. Some of the movies Jazmine and Wesley have done together are Big Black Racks, Hood Hoppin 4, She Got Ass 3 and Ebony Nurses 5. But she did say anyone who loves their job is a person she loves to work with, so there’s still some hope out there for the devoted amateurs.
As for her upcoming plans, Jazmine is pulling back from the performance side of the industry to pursue other passions, including a mainstream film career and writing. But we didn’t just talk willy-nilly, I asked her a few questions about Ransom, the fabulous new release in which she stars.
Jazmine herself was only on set for 3-4 days, averaging 16-hours each day but she believes the film took a few weeks to film. Regardless of the rigorous schedule Jazmine says with confidence that Ransom is in fact her favorite movie thus far, and that she found it “interesting” and “fun to shoot.” “The whole time everyone was on the set, on our toes figuring out what we’re going to have to do next,” Jazmine explained. While busy and rigorous, the attitude on set was one of excitement and possibility.
When asked about her desire to move into the mainstream, Jazmine gets excited. She’s already got a few movies lined up to film in the next few months, but she doesn’t share any titles with me. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see, keeping our eyes open for her on the IMDB.
As the interview wound down Jazmine and I got to talking less about business and more about when the line between business and personal is shattered. A post on her MySpace page indicated that she had dealt with a stalker. Jazmine admitted as much. A man had kept calling her cell phone and wouldn’t leave her alone; as a last resort she made a post on her MySpace. “Oh yeah, that day I got very aggravated. Actually you know what’s so funny, since I put the post up I haven’t really heard from him, I mean he still calls me every now and again but I think he got mad cause I put the post up. He’d always call me and tell me about, he basically would tell me everything about me right but I noticed that a lot of this stuff came off my MySpace page so that’s why I went and put it on my MySpace page.”
It wasn’t her first stalker and probably won’t be her last but Jazmine seems to take it all in stride.
In her final words Jazmine said she appreciated all the love she gets from her fans, and that they are free to contact her through her MySpace page or her website, jazminecashmere.com. She said her fans and their feedback are what drives her and keeps her in this business, even while she’s checking out other opportunities. Her fans are why she’s still around.
I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Jazmine. She shows that she’s a strong independent woman who, despite the fact that she’s looking into other interests, I have no doubt will remain in the porn industry as long as there are people out there watching her. While perusing her website and MySpace page I got the feeling that she has a strong sexual identity, and when I talked to her that was confirmed. And by the way boys, the last time her site was updated she was single and more than open to talking to anyone who’s seriously interested.
I enjoyed her work in Ransom, and after talking with Jazmine over the phone I think it’s safe to say she’s earned herself another fan. I am more than looking forward to her breaking into mainstream films and wish her the best of luck.
